How to Track Writing Achievements and Streaks
WriteinaClick automatically tracks your writing activity and celebrates milestones as you progress. Build streaks, hit word count milestones, and earn achievements without any manual setup.
Writing Streaks
Streaks measure how many consecutive days you've written. Writing any amount each day keeps your streak alive.
Streak Milestones
| Streak | Description |
|---|---|
| 3 days | Short streak, building momentum |
| 5 days | Work week streak |
| 7 days | One full week of writing |
| 30 days | Month-long dedication |
| Extended | Longer streaks beyond 30 days |
When you hit a streak milestone, the app shows a celebration and marks the achievement.
Life happens. If a day slips past your one-day grace (or a streak freeze from the Ink store), the consecutive count starts fresh. Your writing days are never lost, though: the app keeps showing how many of the last 90 days you wrote, so picking the pen back up feels like continuing, not starting over.
Daily Goal
To set how many words a day you aim for, open Settings > Ink & Rewards and, on the Today card, choose Set your daily goal. Meeting it earns Ink.
Word Count Milestones
As your total words written accumulate, you unlock milestone badges:
| Milestone | Words |
|---|---|
| First steps | 1,000 words |
| Short story | 5,000 words |
| Novella start | 10,000 words |
| Growing novel | 25,000 words |
| NaNoWriMo pace | 50,000 words |
| Deep novel | 75,000 words |
| Full novel | 100,000 words |
These milestones track cumulative words across your writing sessions, not just a single book.
Session Achievements
Beyond streaks and word counts, the app recognizes specific writing events:
- Personal best - You wrote more words in one session than your recent best
- Comeback writing - You returned to writing after a break of three or more days
Each achievement can trigger a celebration effect when it's earned.
Celebration Effects
Celebrations are the visual and audio feedback that mark achievements. You can configure them to match your preference.
What Celebrations Include
- Confetti: Visual particles that appear on screen when a milestone is hit
- Audio cues: Optional chime or sound effects
- Haptic feedback: Vibration on supported devices
- Celebration messages: A brief on-screen message describing what you achieved
Configuring Celebrations
In Write, open Tools > Confetti & Celebrations. Options include:
- Enable Celebrations - Turn the entire system on or off
- Play celebration sounds - Keep confetti but silence the sounds
- Celebration Intensity - Control how much fanfare each celebration gets
- Use haptic feedback and Active Confetti Style - Fine-tune the feel and the look
Some writers love the positive reinforcement; others prefer a quiet writing environment. Adjust to your taste.
