Managing Your Subscription
If you subscribed on the web, all subscription management happens in-app, in Settings → Billing. There's no separate billing portal to sign in to.
Subscribed in the mobile app? A plan bought in the WriteinaClick app for iPhone, iPad, or Android is billed by the App Store or Google Play, so you cancel or change it there, in your store subscription settings. The cancel and resume buttons in Settings → Billing on the web don't apply to it.
Viewing your subscription
Open Settings → Billing to see:
- Your current plan (Free, Premium, or Pro) and the workspace it applies to
- Your renewal date, shown as "Renews" and the date your next payment is due
- Your Robin usage for the current month, shown as a percentage meter
- Subscription actions: Cancel subscription, and View all plans to open the pricing page
Cancelling your subscription
- Go to Settings → Billing.
- Click Cancel subscription.
- In the Cancel your subscription? dialog, you can pick a reason and add a short note. Both are optional.
- Click Yes, cancel, or Skip and cancel to cancel without giving a reason. Keep subscription closes the dialog and changes nothing.
Cancelling does not cut off your access immediately:
- You keep your paid plan until the end of the current billing period. The exact date is shown in the confirmation dialog, and afterwards Billing shows a Canceling badge with the date.
- After that date, your account moves to the Free plan.
- You can resubscribe at any time from the pricing page.
Changed your mind? Resume before the period ends
While your subscription is set to cancel, Settings → Billing shows a Resume subscription button. Click it and your plan keeps renewing as before, with no new checkout. Once the billing period has ended, the button is gone and you subscribe again from the pricing page instead.
Downgrading: do you keep your writing?
Yes, you keep all of your writing when you downgrade. Whether you cancel a paid plan or move down to a lower tier (for example, downgrading from Pro or Premium back to Free), your work stays exactly where it is. Downgrading changes what you can do going forward; it never removes what you've already written.
When a paid plan ends and your account moves to Free:
- Nothing is deleted. Your data is retained. Every book, chapter, writing voice profile, and your version history stays in your account. You can still open, read, and edit all of it.
- Limits apply going forward. If you have more books or voice profiles than Free allows, you keep and can edit the ones you already have. You just can't create new ones beyond the Free limit until you upgrade again.
- Paid features pause. Features included with your paid tier (such as Reader mode or full proofreading with Robin) become unavailable until you resubscribe, then return immediately when you do.
So downgrading is completely safe: you can move back to Free, keep every word you've written, and upgrade again later without losing anything.
Resubscribing
Visit the pricing page, pick a plan and billing cycle, and complete checkout on the secure payment page. You come back to Settings → Billing, and your paid features return as soon as payment succeeds.
Payment issues
If a renewal payment fails, Settings → Billing shows a Past Due badge. There's no control in the app for changing your card, so reach out with Report an issue in the user menu (the person icon, top right) and we'll help you sort it out.
