Write-ins on Mobile
A write-in is a scheduled session where writers write at the same time, on a shared countdown. For how the rooms and the daily schedule work, see Sprint Rooms on the web.
The room on Home and in Write
When a room is running today, a small panel sits at the bottom of Home and of Write with the countdown. Tap it to open it further.
- Tap the join button to join the write-in. While you write in Write, the room counts the words you add to your book.
Once you have joined:
- Type in Say something to the room to chat.
- Tap I'm stuck if you want the room to know; tap Lower the stuck flag when you are moving again.
- Open the panel all the way to find the leave button.
The panel is hidden in focus mode, so nothing but your manuscript is on screen.
Ask to be reminded
Open the Account tab and tap Write-in schedule.
- Each scheduled write-in shows its length. Tap Remind me to be reminded before it starts, or Remove reminder to stop.
- Tell me when someone opens a room: tap Turn on or Turn off. Open rooms stay on the schedule either way; this only turns the nudge on or off.
- Write-ins somebody asked for lists write-ins other writers have proposed. Three writers make a room. Tap I will be there to be counted; the row then shows You are in.
Proposing a new write-in is done on the web app.
Your write-ins
Open the Account tab and tap Your write-ins to see the sessions you have joined: the day, how many words you wrote, and whether you stepped out before the end.
Reminders arrive as notifications. See Notifications.
