Reader Pulse on Mobile

Reader Pulse asks Robin to read your chapters and estimate where readers would engage most, and where they might drop off. The scores are Robin's estimates: treat them as a compass for revision, not a verdict.

To learn what Robin reads, what each score means, and why results can change between runs, see How Reader Pulse reads your book.

Open Reader Pulse

  • In Write, tap Actions (...) and choose Reader Pulse. A panel opens for the chapter you are in.
  • Or open the Edit tab and, under Reports, tap Reader Pulse for the full screen.

Check one chapter from Write

If the book has not been analyzed yet, the panel offers:

  • Check this chapter's pulse to read just the chapter you are in.
  • Or read a few chapters together to pick a run of chapters.
  • Or analyze the whole book to open the full Reader Pulse screen.

Once there is a result, the panel shows What's working, Watch out for, and Top suggestion for the chapter. Tap Open full analysis to see the whole book.

Analyze the whole book

  1. Open the full Reader Pulse screen.
  2. Tap Analyze my book (or Analyze at the top). After a first run, the button reads Re-analyze.
  3. Wait while Robin reads. A full book can take a few minutes. You can leave the screen; the run keeps going. Tap Cancel to stop it.

The results show:

  • Overall engagement, with the trend across the book and any critical drop-off points.
  • Across the book: average scores for Opening hook, Closing hook, Pacing, Tension, and Emotional resonance, and your Weakest area, the place to look first.
  • An engagement curve across the chapters. Tap a chapter on the curve, or its card below, to see its strengths, Concerns, and Top recommendation.

If you have changed the book since the last run, a notice tells you so and offers to re-analyze.

Read a few chapters together

Tap Read a few chapters together to open the chapter picker. Choose the chapters (or Select all) and tap Read these together to see how a run of chapters hands off from one to the next. This option is part of the Pro plan; on other plans the section shows See plans.

Printable cards

After an analysis, tap Cards at the top of the screen to open Reader Pulse cards, and tap Save as PDF to keep a copy.

While you are still drafting

Reader Pulse is a revision tool. Until a book moves to Revising, the app asks first: tap Keep drafting to leave it for later, or Use it anyway to run it now.

Running an analysis needs an internet connection and may need a paid plan. If your plan does not include it, the app shows your plan options instead.
