Robin Book Skills on Mobile
A skill is a reusable behavior you hand Robin at the start of a chat: a first reader reacting to your hook, a continuity editor hunting for contradictions, or a tough questioner pressure-testing your plot. Pick a skill once and Robin keeps that lens for the whole conversation.
Skills are talk-only: Robin discusses your book through the chosen lens and never changes your text. To use a different skill, you start a new chat.
For an overview of skills and how to write your own, see the cross-platform concept and the web guide. The behavior is the same everywhere.
Opening Ask Robin
From Write, tap Ask Robin (the speech bubble in the bar above the keyboard). The Ask Robin sheet opens. Robin reads the chapter you're in before responding.
Picking a skill
- In the Ask Robin sheet, tap the + button (Add to chat) beside the message box.
- Choose a skill from the list. Built-in skills include Beta-Reader Critique, Manuscript Health Check, Story Grilling, Character Deep-Dive, and Continuity & Series Check.
The skill you picked shows as a chip next to the message box. Send your first message and the skill locks to that conversation, and every reply that follows uses the same lens.
To switch, tap the x on the skill chip, or choose Exit skill (new chat) from the + menu, to start a fresh chat.
Creating a skill
If you have editing permissions in your workspace, the + menu also offers Create skill, which opens the skill manager. Give the skill a short name and plain-language instructions describing the role you want Robin to take. Skills you create are shared with everyone in your workspace.
See the web guide for tips on writing a great skill.
