Guest Reviewer Links

A guest reviewer link lets you share a book with someone who doesn't need an account and doesn't take up a seat. It's made for beta readers, a proofreader, or a quick second opinion. Guest links work in your personal workspace as well as in shared ones.

  1. Open your book and go to Publish.
  2. In the Reader & share with beta readers card, click Invite a beta reader.
  3. Choose the Access level:
    • Read only: the guest can read the book and nothing else.
    • Can comment: the guest can read and leave notes in the margin. This is the default.
    • Can suggest edits: the guest can read, leave notes, and propose wording that you approve or decline.
  4. Optionally add a Label (for example, the reader's name) so you can tell your links apart.
  5. Set Expires in (days), from 1 to 365. The default is 14 days. Every link expires.
  6. Click Create link, then Copy the link and send it to your reader.

The link is shown only once. If you lose it, revoke the link and create a new one.

Only owners and admins of the workspace can create guest links.

The same card lists your active links with their access level, how many times each was opened, and when it expires. Click Revoke next to a link to cut off access immediately.

How guests use it

Anyone with the link opens the book directly: no sign-up and no invitation to accept. A guest with Can suggest edits needs to sign in to a WriteinaClick account to propose wording; reading and commenting don't need an account. Guests never appear in your members list and never use a seat.

When to invite instead

If you want someone to edit the book, see it in their own workspace switcher, or collaborate over time, invite them as a member instead of sharing a guest link.
