The Path for Your Book

WriteinaClick organizes each book around five destinations in the main navigation, plus Book settings as a side utility. Pick a book first: Research, Write, Edit, and Publish all work on the active book you have open.

This page is the map. For how each surface looks on a laptop or phone, use the Web and Mobile how-tos linked below.

Home

Your shelf and continue-writing surface. See recent progress, open a book, start a new one, and get a light nudge from Robin when it helps. Home is about which book and whether to keep going, not deep manuscript editing.

Research

Optional workspace for thinking beside the manuscript. Chat with Robin in research mode, save useful ideas into your Story Hub (worlds, characters, places, notes), and keep continuity straight before or between drafting sessions.

Write

Where you draft the manuscript. Chapters, acts, formatting, autosave, and the writing canvas live here. Ask Robin about the book while you write. Story Hub is available from Write when you need reference without leaving the draft.

Prefer saying you "open Write" when you mean this destination. "Editor" in the docs means the drafting canvas itself (the place you type), not the whole app.

Edit

A dedicated proofing pass: spelling, grammar, and style checks across a chapter or the whole book, with progress you can leave and return to. Links out to reader insights and version history when you need a wider view.

Edit is for polishing what you already wrote. New prose still belongs in Write.

Publish

Getting the book ready to leave the house: export finished files, open Reader mode, share with beta readers, and collect feedback. Some larger packaging and distribution capabilities are still arriving. See Coming for Your Book.

Book settings (utility)

Not a sixth step on the path. On the web, Book settings is a page with these sections: Book (title, cover, author, language, genres), Voice, Series, Goals, Momentum, and Freeze. The mobile app shows the same list plus Collaboration (guest links), Sync, and Danger zone. On the web, open it from Book settings in the top navigation. In the mobile app, open it from the actions menu in Write.

  • Web: Book Settings
  • Mobile: Story Hub and settings entry points are covered under Write and book settings in the app.

Voices and Story Hub

  • Voice profiles live in your library and are assigned on Book settings so Robin matches how you write. See Voice Profiles.
  • Story Hub is the book's reference space. Use it from Research and from Write; it is not a separate top-level destination beside the path.
